Finally Done
This project has been long.. tiring.. fun.. stress-filled.. I've felt overworked.. Underappreciated.. Over Appreciated.. Completely lost in this imaginary world.. and above all I'm finally first the first time in my college career... SATISFIED...
These last 3 years here at UT I haven't put out much work that I could say I was satisfied with the quality of work I had shown.. Sure I've had pretty good grades all the way through and no professor has ever told me that I'm a disgrace to the major but I really have felt like that for a while.. I was around all of these super motivated people that were always pushing to create these amazing and fulfilling projects and I was just turning in the bare minimum so I could walk back over to the track and resume training..
Finally getting to work with a group on a game concept that I was super interested in was the exact change of pace I needed.. For someone who likes to just go with the flow and explore each and every random avenue, it was great to kinda get to be in charge for once.. If I wanted a new mechanic I just coded it up and tried to implement it.. If I wanted to work on some environmental design I could just pop into Unity and start placing Khel's art assets.. If I wanted to mess around with being an audio engineer I could pull sounds out toss new ones in and just goof around seeing how the game changes..
You can ask anyone I don't think I've spent more than 10 hours on a class here at UT before this semester.. But these last 5 weeks there were very few moments in the day in which I didn't have unity, visual studios, brackey's tutorials or a devlog running on my laptop.. This project really sucked me and captured me.. In fact, I have been blowing off my other classes since this all started but let's ignore that and focus on how cool it is that I actually tried for once..
I just want to say thanks to my group mates for making this project an amazing experience.. It was great working with both of you and the game wouldn't have been anywhere near as amazing without you.. And another thanks to my friends and teammates for continuing to bug me about when you could play the game so I was forced to actually try and finish it..
Now I am going to go sleep for a week.. Goodnight...
